People start therapy for a variety reasons which may not be related to a specific diagnosis, such as:

"I don't feel like myself anymore,

"Most nights I have trouble falling asleep"

"Life has felt stressful lately and I want to find better coping skills,"

"I'm worrying too much," or "I can't stop worrying about different things"

"Lately, I've had difficulty focusing,"

Other themes I hear among people seeking self-improvement through counseling include:

Low self-esteem; loneliness; difficulty with sleeping; receiving life changing news; desire to change lifestyle or health behaviors, or suggestions from other people to try therapy.

There are various reasons to try therapy. The goal of therapy is to no longer need therapy: therapy is a temporary resource.

Our work will find what works for you, your unique situation, and your goals.

(Need help developing goals? Therapy is a fantastic place to explore personal goals and values!)

I primarily work with LGBTQ+ adults, women, and non-binary folks, though I have experience supporting many client identities and experiences.

As a therapist and human with ADHD, I utilize an Autism/ADHD affirming therapeutic approach, which means I will validate and enthusiastically listen to your latest hyper-fixation, sensory realization, or newest hobby without being ableist.

Nicole Zegiestowsky, M.S., Pre-licensed Online Therapist

My name is Nicole (she/her), and as a therapist I believe that each client is the expert in his/her/their own life.

I actively incorporate our relationship, the “therapeutic alliance,” into sessions. I treat issues like PTSD, trauma, depression, parent-child relationships, perinatal and postpartum depression and anxiety.

I provide online counseling services with men, women, and nonbinary people who are in Alaska.

Prior to private practice, I provided outpatient and residential psychotherapy services to individuals across the lifespan through community mental health, interdisciplinary family medicine, and tribal health agencies.

I'm a pre-licensed therapist, which means I am working under the supervision of Psychologist & board approved supervisor (Dr. Ekstrom, #169093, #125200), read more about that here.

My free time is most enjoyable when spent outside gardening, hiking, camping, or being on the water.

I like to use humor in my clinical work and hope to meet your pets or plants over our telehealth sessions.

If you think we could work well together, let's talk!
